Monstera adansonii (round form)
This product is sold out
Monstera adansonii and its multiple forms have an interesting history, with its most recent classification naming the different forms as subspecies. A subspecies means that there is geographical isolation of that plant, often different in morphology to the same plant in a different geographical region.
The Monstera adansonii commonly seen in cultivation are commonly referred to as "narrow form" and "round form". There is a lot of variability in the way the leaf appears, even within their scientific subclassifications, and through its stages of maturity. Check our product page for the narrow form here to see the difference.
This plant can be grown in a hanging basket, but the leaves will gradually grow smaller and more juvenile over time. However, it really thrives when given something to climb. The leaves will grow larger and have more fenestrations (splits and holes), maturing the more it grows.
Bright, indirect or diffused light.
Water when top 1-2 inches is dry. Be sure soil is well-draining and chunky.
Will grow in standard household humidity, but may need higher humidity to climb.
