Used as a soil amendment for many epiphytes - most famously for orchids - but is a spectacular addition to any medium for aroids. Bark helps to retain moisture, but still allows ample airflow in the soil. Fir bark in particular degrades slower than other tree barks and helps to slightly acidify the soil which most plants love.
Soak overnight and drain before use.
